And you, fathers, do not provoke your
children to wrath, but bring them up in the training
and admonition of the Lord.
-Ephesians 6:4
Christ Classical Academy endeavors to assist
parents in the discipline and education of their
children by providing a Christ-centered, classically
structured program, designed to equip students with
the proper tools for learning and the desire to use
them for the Glory of God.
What is Classical Education?
Christ Classical Academy uses the classical
approach to learning based upon the three levels of
development called the Trivium.
The grammar school (Kindergarten to sixth)
emphasizes basic learning skills, while the
dialectic school (seventh to ninth) concentrates on
formal instruction in logic. The rhetoric school
(tenth to twelfth) helps students develop a clear
understanding of verbal, written, and mechanical
aspects of expression used in each subject studied.
The goal is to teach our students how to
think as a basis for mastering specific
subject areas. Intensive phonics and primary reading
sources, including the Bible and classic works, are
used for instruction in reading and the language
arts. We use an incremental and cumulative approach
to mathematics skills. Latin is taught for its
direct benefits and as reinforcement for
understanding English grammar and vocabulary.
